Fly far far away

When the weather outside is a frightful minus 21 degrees, thoughts naturally turn to warmth and everything yummy. And some place far, far away from here. Some place like La Magnanerie. We had the most amazing good luck to find this place and stay here for a few nights when we were in Provence last year.

Caroline and Francois who run this place are charming beyond description - and have beautifully preserved this converted silk worm farm. They have turned it into a bed and breakfast in Grans, just outside of Mareseilles in the heart of Provence, France.

From the moment you discover it - and push the gate open, you are drawn into a Secret Garden like setting. The grounds are lush with greenery and every turn and meander down the courtyard brings you to fantastic little treasures.

Caroline's breakfasts are yummy, simple, and soul satisfying. There is conversations to be had and wine to be shared with the hosts and the other guests in the evenings. The rooms are dreamy and invite you to spend an extra moment lingering.

See for yourself!

These are the plane trees that form a brilliant canopy in one of the bylanes - doesn't it look mysterious and delightful?

View from our room - a delightful loft - aptly titled the "Diva Room"

Another turn in the garden...

From the breakfast area loking up into the beautiful facade of the building
 Meander down, won't you?

What could be around that hedge??

At a loss for description!
